As a Fashion Professional, showing a basic understanding of pattern work and standard Industry procedures is key for success... And a complete and clearly written pattern card is a must! Even though a pattern maker will give you one with your pattern, they are often hand written and sloppy. I always recommend taking a moment to staple a new copy on top that’s consistent on all your patterns (your logo added to it is a plus). It will help your contractors identify your property quickly, and avoid miscommunication. And it’s a great opportunity to cross check with the garment and become more familiar with it for when fittings start. A win win!
